********************************************************************

It was a beautiful start to the day.

First stop Castle Campbell
It is a bit of a walk up, down then up to get there but WOW.

Sometimes you have to ignore your fear of heights and screaming knees and climb to the top.

On my way back down I passed some people on their way up they asked me if it was worth it (It really wasn't an easy walk to get there) I told them yes it was definetly worth it and to make sure they went to the top of the castle.

Next stop was just a bit further down the road to the Wallace Monument.

Oh how the weather changes in the blink of an eye. I parked the bike secured my helmet & jacket, got my ticket and got on the bus to take me to the monument, this all took place with blue skies, by the time (a couple of minutes) the bus got up there it was starting to rain.

It was freezing, wet & very windy at the top of the monument.

Now it's back down all those stairs.

My knees are certainly complaining more now after that climb.

WT back down the bottom and it's blue skies again.

I was going to stop at Stirling Castle & the Battle of Bannockburn but I was so tired and my knees were really sore. I'm actually really surprised at how well my knees have been going as there has been a lot of pushing my bike around on not very good surfaces. For those that don't know I have had a lot of problems with my knees over the years and have had 6 operations on my left leg.

Then a quick stop to check out the Falkirk Wheel

Lots to see today, The Kelpies.

And then onto Edinburgh, which I was regretting as soon as I hit the traffic.

Lot's of cobblestone streets, these are horrible to ride on.
