Family Gathering Trip Day 7 - England - Tintagel to Carbis Bay (St Ives)

Last night we stayed at the Cornishman Inn, a pub in the centre of town, the room was very quiet and the meals were good. I would definitely stay there again.

Tintagel is a lovely little town.

It was another glorious morning, there was a cold wind but the sun was shining.

We had breakfast, packed up and headed off to have a look at Tintagel Castle, the supposed birthplace of King Arthur.

It was a long walk down a really steep hill, which only brought you to the bottom of where the castle was. It was then a climb up to the top of the next hill to see the ruins of the castle, it was  worth the climb the views up there were fantastic.

We spent a couple of hours walking around the castle, we then headed off for our next destination.

Some of the roads are very narrow, especially when cars are parked along them.

Our next stop was Port Isaac, if you watch Doc Martin then you will know it as Port Wenn. It is a beautiful village and we had some lovely bits of seafood here, but they had sold out of fresh crab.

The Doctor wasn't home.

A heap of bikes came down the street. Hopefully that will be me one day.

Our stop for the night was Howards Hotel in Carbis Bay near St Ives.

We arrived at Carbis Bay fairly early so we put our bags in our room and decided to have a look at St Ives, we didn't get a chance as we couldn't find anywhere to park, so we headed off to see Lands End.
